Calen scribes each side of the sole as its own riser. A fifty-eight that looks even in a drawer can already be a staircase with a broken landing at the heel.
Dead heel
The tread has become a ramp. Fat shots from tight Dixie Red Hills lies start here. Recut if metal remains; retire if the factory already ran the heel thin.

Rare, and usually a player who practices bunkers at Sand Hollow then plays parkland at Sunbrook without wiping the grit. The center is not an average of toe and heel.
